What is rental car coverage?
Rental car coverage is like a safety net for your temporary ride. Faye offers rental car insurance through our car rental bundle, which you can add to your Faye Travel Protection Plan. In short, it can protect your temporary vehicle for the duration of your trip, covering rental-related accident expenses including physical damage to the vehicle, as well as theft and relevant administrative fees charged by the rental car agency.
So if your rental gets dinged, scratched, vandalized or even stolen, Faye can step in to help cover the costs for unintentional damages or accidents while you’re behind the wheel.
Does my personal car insurance cover rental cars?
Your personal auto insurance policy may cover most rental cars with the same coverage limits and deductibles as long as you’re renting a car within the U.S. and Canada. If you’re traveling outside of North America, your personal auto policy typically doesn’t cut it, meaning rental car coverage is crucial when abroad.
What does Faye’s rental car coverage include?
Accidental rental car damage and theft
Coverage in the event of accidental damage to your rental car like collision, vandalism, natural disaster or theft related to your rental car.
Travel inconvenience coverage
If you find yourself at a closed attraction, the beach you traveled to is closed or your rental vehicle breaks down, you can be reimbursed up to $200 per each inconvenience, up to a maximum of $600 total per trip.
Customizable rental car care coverage
You can choose which days of your trip you’ll need rental car coverage for and can purchase it for every vehicle you’re renting. Coverage starts at $6.95 a day for California residents and $7.58 a day for residents of other states. This add-on may not be available in all states.
24/7 assistance
We provide 24/7 assistance (including weekends and holidays) and access to our award-winning app where you can easily chat with our support team, file claims quickly and get reimbursed on approved claims to your phone’s wallet.
